Esta en Costa Rica

Hola Everyone!!
So i made it safe and its been a very hectic few days I´ve been keeping a journal so here´s what I have so far...

I´ve made it through my first day! since we left it´s been crazy but overall a great start. We left PDX at 3 pm and arrived in Denver at 6. there we stayed for 6 hours and began practicing spanish and bonding as a group. the first plane ride was really boring and all i could think about was i´m actually leaving. at midnight we took off for san jose! i tried to sleep but between being really excited and really uncomfortable not much sleep actually happened. we got to costa rica at 5 am and took a 4 hour bus ride to Monteverde. The road to MV was the most windey, bumpy road i´ve ever been in and for that long it was not that great. but the sceneary is soo pretty and it kept us occupied for quite a while. we stopped for breakfasta nd had a traditional breakfast.. rice beans eggs toast fried banna Que Rica! or how delicious. then 2 more hours of driving. at this point we were all in need of a shower and some clean clothes. we saw cows dogs and some really stange bugs. but everything is so pretty. there are hills and mountains that go on forever and they are all so green and covered with trees. we arrived at school called CPI and took a placement exam. then we waited for our families to pick us up. my madre tica.. my costa rica mom came and took me home. i was really nervous to talk to her and it was really challlenging at first. but we looked at pictures and it started to get better. we went to the market and got groceries and then went home and we had a long talk. she doesn´t speak any english and at times it was really hard to understand each other. her husband and daughters were at school and i met them later. i took a nap and then wer watched the news. i was so happy cause i could actually understand. kailee and rachel came over and we all talked wiht my mom and JaunCarlos, the nephew of Rachel´s family. My mom and i had dinner and National Treasure was on in spanish! the rest of the family came mom Ronny my dad Mariela she´s 13 and nayeli she´s 7. they brought home milk from a farm that was really fresh and these strange apple olive fruit things. i went to bed around 10 30 and there are cats on the roof that sound really freaky at night. it was a great day and i REALLLY like my family.
DAY 2
Waking up was really strange because the frist things i said was in spanish and i didn´t speak any english for 2 hours after that. we all met at Soboras the ice cream shop and went to Traipiche were they make sugar and candy and coffee. we had lunch there and went to school. Im in a class with Kailee Bailey and Kate! what are the odds of that. we spoke for 3 hours about really hard topics like affirmative action and the differences between our schools and the costa rica schools. our teachers name is Iza and she likes to dance also which is fun! I´m really proud of my spanish and its really fun for me to be able to speak so much. after school we went to get ice cream and met up with the group and juan carlos. i walked with him and he could understand me! he´s 8 years old and very funny. he lives right next to me and he´s just so hilarious. I did my homeowrk and ronny helped make sure it was right. i helped mariela with math and nayeli with some english homework. we had dinner then and after they started playing gin rummy. i watched and recognized the game and told them i knew how to play and we all played for a while which was so neat. after i went to bed and was so excited because we went on the zip lines today!
i don´t have any more time today but i´ll be able to use the computers soon
